Rebate Program
NWEC will issue cash rebates to qualifying members who replace or install new energy efficient air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps or electric water heaters. The following guidelines indicate the allowable rebate pending an on-site verification for each type of energy efficient unit installed:
Electric Water Heater
$100 new unit or gas conversion
$50 electric replacement
● Minimum Specifications:
► 40 gallon with energy factor of .93 or greater
Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) Rebate
$250/ton new or gas conversion
● Minimum Specifications:
► Closed Loop > 16.1 EER & 3.3 COP
► Open Loop > 18.2 EER & 3.6 COP
► DX (Direct Expansion) > 16 EER & 3.5 COP
Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) Rebate
$150/ton electric replacement
● Minimum Specifications:
► Closed Loop > 16.1 EER & 3.3 COP
► Open Loop > 18.2 EER & 3.6 COP
► DX (Direct Expansion) > 16 EER & 3.5 COP
Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Rebate
$150/ton new or gas conversion
$50/ton electric replacement
● Minimum Specifications: SEER of 14.5-16
$250/ton new or gas conversion
$150/ton electric replacement
● Minimum Specifications: SEER over16
All units must be ARI certified. Maximum rebate of $1,000 per application.
