Rebate Programs
NWEC will issue cash rebates to qualifying members who replace or install new energy efficient air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, electric water heaters, whole-home generators, all-electric HVAC systems, or ENERGY STAR programmable thermostats.
For replacement of existing units, the newly installed equipment must prove to be more efficient than what the member had previously installed/in use. This will be verified during the application process.
The guidelines below indicate the allowable rebate pending approval of completed application and supporting verification materials for each type of energy efficient unit installed:
Contact Melissa Weder or Lyndsey Harvey with questions regarding our rebate programs at nwec@nwecok.org or by calling 580-256-7425.

ENERGY STAR Programmable Thermostat Rebate
$50/per application

Members who install an ENERGY STAR programmable thermostat can also choose to participate in our peak day program. This would add members to a list to be notified on peak days (days where demand for electricity in our region is deemed high enough to cause concern for straining the grid and results in calls for conservation of energy) so they can adjust their thermostat to help our cooperative reduce our energy use.
Our thermostat rebate form features an area where members can opt in to the peak day program, but if you have additional questions please contact us at 580-256-7425 or nwec@nwecok.org.
Federal Tax Credits
(Includes heat pumps, water heaters, central heat and air systems, and more!)
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 empowers Americans to make homes and buildings more energy-efficient by providing federal tax credits and deductions that will help reduce energy costs and demand, as we transition to cleaner energy sources.
Through 2032, federal income tax credits are available to homeowners, that will allow up to $3,200 annually to lower the cost of energy efficient home upgrades by up to 30 percent.
In addition to the energy efficiency credits, homeowners can also take advantage of the modified and extended Residential Clean Energy credit, which provides a 30 percent income tax credit for clean energy equipment, such as rooftop solar, wind energy, geothermal heat pumps and battery storage through 2032, stepping down to 22 percent for 2033 and 2034.
